About Us

The Political Law group at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP created this blog to help readers make sense of pay-to-play legislative developments and foster debate around corporate compliance and the direction of future legislation. Our goal is to share the status of proposed pay-to-play legislation and provide analyses on the impacts of pay-to-play regulations on the state level in reference to lobbying, contributions and gifts. The blog’s editor, Stefan Passantino, and other attorneys in practices throughout the firm, operate with the government at the highest federal, state and local levels.

Few law firms have a foundation in state and federal lobbying compliance, corporate political activities, campaign finance, election law and government ethics. In order to best respond to the needs of our client, we created a Political Law practice comprised of attorneys and advisors within our Government Affairs, Corporate, Tax and Litigation practices, many of whom have played significant roles in national political campaigns.
